The Thalassian Legion is led by a set of elite Commissioned Officers (OOCly known as the Officer Core), be they the triumvrate that is High Command, or those hand-picked by High Command themselves.
High Command
Whereas the Ranger-General holds the overall military authority over Quel’Thalas, High Command serves as the principal authority within the Thalassian Legion itself. Charged with the leadership of the battalion, they bear the collective and equal responsibility in their respective capacities, each commanding their designated battalions. Furthermore, they function jointly as military judges for crimes committed—whether by their own forces, enemy combatants, or civilians under the protection of Quel’Thalas.

The Seconds-in-Command
The select individuals chosen by High Command to aid in delegating the burden of leadership, the Thalassian Legion’s seconds-in-command each answer to their respective High Commanders. They are individuals authorized to not only act independantly at their own discretion but also assume leadership and oversee their respective battalions in the event of their Commander’s absence or incapacitation (both ICly and OOCly). They are accountable for ensuring that the regiment is adequately supplied and that those under them are appropriately trained.
Oathkeeper Dawn Sunshot
Oathkeeper of The Phoenix Guard, Dawn is someone at the forefront of the Thalassian Legion’s military matters. Her position affords her the ability to help shape a world that she would see protected, kept safe for those who come after her so they do not need to go through the strife she has in times past. A skilled equestrian, battle medic, and having stood on the frontlines against death itself, Dawn brings her experience from the Crusades back home to help shape that future. So that all of Quel’thalas may heal and have a tomorrow that they will want to see.
As a proud daughter of Quel’thalas, Dawn now carries herself with a quiet confidence and warm heart, believing that strength is to be used to protect rather than dominate. Steadfast in her convictions and deeply fond of the people she calls her own, Dawn puts herself between the darkness and the light. She honors tradition, but also moves forward. Beyond her duties, she finds joy in the finer craft of jewelcrafting and a particular fondness for horses, appreciating both the patience of a skilled hand and the freedom of galloping through the fields. She is thoughtful in her ways, steadfast in her convictions, and deeply fond of the people she calls her own. From the frozen north, to the warm springs of Quel’thalas, Dawn has always sought to be the beacon anyone can look for.
Oathkeeper Ren’melorn Soulsong
As Oathkeeper of the Hands of Life, Ren’melorn is the Thalassian Legion’s Chief Medical Officer. This places him in the Legionnaires, under Knight-Commander Vandonna Voidmoon’s command. Yet Oathkeeper Soulsong’s position affords him and—by proxy—his Hands of Life influence over all divisions of the Thalassian Legion, enough that he can order even High Command be bedbound should he deem their condition severe enough. A master in the Way of the Wise Serpent, Oathkeeper Soulsong is a potent mistweaver with a deep pool of chi, as well as a formally trained field medic. His “arsenal” is broadest, however, in the traditional fields of medicine, being a licensed apothecary and poisons expert, and holding a millennium’s worth of knowledge in herbalism along with over two decades of alchemic study.
Among the Commissioned Officers in the Thalassian Legion, Ren’melorn is one of the most stoic. He is a quiet man who rarely raises his voice and is even more seldom seen without a mask, meticulously maintaining his bangs over his right side and carrying himself with a bearing of calm discipline. Featuring minimalist facial expressions, the Chief Medical Officer may not be the most readable man on Azeroth, but he is perhaps the most patient man in the Thalassian Legion who, while not much of a conversationalist, is an attentive listener. Oddly, however, despite his military participance, Oathkeeper Soulsong is a pacifist. His way of leadership is a reflection of this, commanding orders to his Hands of Life only when the most dire situations demand it and sparsely passing judgement for mistakes made.
Second Shadow Avoli
As Second Shadow of the Inquisitorious, Avoli serves as the Thalassian Legion’s Spymaster under the guidance and orders of Oracle-General Rana Voidmoon. His demeanor is a playful one, joyous of every positive he can find in the world around him. Yet his background is something none may find much info on in the Thalassian Legion’s files due to the Oracle-General sealing them long ago. Only a select few can access them. Commonly known skills he often chats about tend to center around survival, be it extensive to knowledge of herbalism and tracking or his expertise in hunting.
Avoli is one of the more expressive and, at time, boisterous Commissioned Officers in the Thalassian Legion. Though far from on par with his commander in exuberance, he is one who rarely appears to let the world’s bothers slow him down. Unafraid of chatting with all ranks, he is perhaps the easiest of his ilk to connect with for new blood in the ranks. Still, the Second Shadow is assiduous in his latent monk training under Oathkeeper Ren’melorn Soulsong. Despite his jarring dichotomy of being being merry in one moment and straightforward the next, there are still moments when Avoli slinks back and observes the world for what it is.

The Thirds-in-Command
OOC Note: Not all of the players of these characters are OOC Officers, most are only officers IC.
The Thalassian Legion’s third-in-command are chosen not by High Command, but their seconds specifically to act not unlike they would: advisors, leaders, and, above all, examples for the rank-and-file. Their foremost duty is not to serve High Command, but aid their seconds where needed and to share the responsibility of training and assisting new blood.
