The Thalassian Legion is led by a set of elite Commissioned Officers (OOCly known as the Officer Core), be they the triumvrate that is High Command, or those hand-picked by High Command themselves.
High Command
While the Ranger-General holds the overall military authority over Quel’Thalas, High Command serves as the principal authority within the Thalassian Legion itself. Charged with the leadership of the battalion, they bear the collective and equal responsibility in their respective capacities, each commanding their designated battalions. Furthermore, they function jointly as military judges for crimes committed—whether by their own forces, enemy combatants, or civilians under the protection of Quel’Thalas.

The Seconds-in-Command
The select individuals chosen by High Command to aid in delegating the burden of leadership, the Thalassian Legion’s seconds-in-command each answer to their respective High Commanders. They are individuals authorized to not only act independantly at their own discretion but also assume leadership and oversee their respective battalions in the event of their Commander’s absence or incapacitation (both ICly and OOCly). They are accountable for ensuring that the regiment is adequately supplied and that those under them are appropriately trained.

Oathkeeper Ren’melorn Soulsong
Oathkeeper to the Hands of Life, Ren’melorn serves as the Thalassian Legion’s Chief Medical Officer with the stoic composure one might expect of a disciplined monk. He is a mistweaver—mastered in the Way of the Serpent—yet his ”arsenal” also includes a millennium’s worth of knowledge in herbalism and over two decades of alchemic study. As one of the Legionnaire Division, he falls under Knight-Commander Vandonna Voidmoon’s command, yet his position affords him the right to order even High Command be bedbound should he deem their condition severe.
Oathkeeper Soulsong is a quiet individual who seldom raises his voice, wont to speak only as necessary. Oddly perhaps, despite his military service he is a pacifist who rarely bears arms. Ren’melorn is scarcely seen without his mask, and meticulously maintains his bangs over the right side of his face. Still, this hasn’t prevented the occasional mistaking for a woman due to his more androgynous features. However, he remains a patient individual who, while not much of a conversationalist, is a keen listener.

The Thirds-in-Command

The Thalassian Legion’s third-in-command are chosen not by High Command, but their seconds specifically to act not unlike they would: advisors, leaders, and, above all, examples for the rank-and-file. Their foremost duty is not to serve High Command, but aid their seconds where needed and to share the responsibility of training and assisting new blood.
