As many militaries do, the Thalassian Legion employs and enforces the wearing of uniforms while on duty. The purpose of this is to (ICly) build discipline, camaraderie, and professional pride to foster a cohesive fighting force. They also establish immediate identification of personnel rank, as uniforms should always feature the member’s Rank Insignia—one of the three items given to all members after completing their interview.
Rank Insignia: The standard is that one’s rank insignia be worn over the heart. However, if an individual’s armor prevents this, it’s permissible to wear it elsewhere so long as it is somewhere appropriate and visible. The rank insignia provided will magically upgrade as its wearer is promoted over time, courtesy of High Command’s Head Magistrix.
On duty hours include authorized ceremonies (such as the Assembly of the Troops, funerals, parades, and military balls), official travel (transporting as a group from one place to another; marches or patrols), and providing security for events (CSC security, for example). Until or unless the Thalassian Legion comes to blows with other Thalassians, uniforms are not required on missions, though members are welcome to don them if they so choose.
Uniform Color Standards
Speaking OOCly, you are all free to design your uniforms yourselves.
The standard for most uniforms only constitutes featuring primarily red and gold (the Sin’dorei colors) in the majority of your transmog, as well as the Thalassian Legion’s guild tabard.
Still, Blood Knight members are welcome to were their iconic black & red colors, and Farstriders or Hunters in general are welcome to wear green.
However, it is encouraged that you have a majority black transmog during any stealth missions.
